What the call means
Nil is a commitment by a player to take no tricks. Its treatment is separate from the partner’s ordinary contract in Pagat’s basic account.
What to confirm
Read the complete rules for the value of a successful or failed Nil, and the treatment of tricks taken by a failed Nil bidder. Blind Nil is a separate special bid with its own conditions. Do not silently treat a blank input as either one.
